Excellent base with good quality accommodation for walking the fells around Shap & Haweswater with a local pub only a mile away across the fields for good food and ale to end your day.

We had a lovely time staying in this cosy, warm, well-equipped cottage, despite being in Cumbria the day after the heaviest rainfall in 1000 years and getting rather wet! We spent much time failing to be able to get past the floods, so consigned to the cottage to entertain outselves, but it was still plenty of fun - with the log fire, games and warming food.

We had a lovely holiday here, thanks for being so friendly and we really enjoyed the fresh eggs! It was great to find somewhere that would take two large dogs, and it's not true what they say about bad weather in the Lake District - we never saw a drop!

We enjoyed the farmyard setting, and the house was very spacious with great facilities - beneficial to provide telephone. We really enjoyed out stay and were very pleased you could accommodate our dog!
